Resin Tent and Exhaust
Contain resin printing and post-processing in the tent, and build an exhaust that I can recommend rather than just use.
Current state
The 5 × 5 ft grow tent is assembled in the garage with a floor liner and a temporary table. An AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T4 inline fan is on hand, but the ductwork isn't set up, so there is no working exhaust yet.
Next actionSet up the ductwork, including the new roof opening, then smoke-test the exhaust and update my recommendation.

What this project tracks
- The duct run and getting the fan working as an exhaust
- The tent's dirty zone, floor liner, and work surface
- Turning the tested setup into the resin grow-tent guide
Equipment and setup
- AC Infinity CLOUDLAB 866 (AC-CBA866), 5 × 5 ft grow tent, assembled in the garage, with cinch-top duct ports on the wall and in the floor corner
- A space heater in the tent to keep it warm as winter comes on; with the fan controller's temperature sensor, I can see whether it's warm enough to print instead of guessing. Long term, I plan to heat just the inside of the printer instead of the whole tent
- Plastic floor liner held with corner clips, and a plastic-covered temporary folding table; a ~58-inch standing desk is planned as the main work surface
- Braun 4 ft shop light; an LED light that shouldn't put out meaningful UV, though its output hasn't been measured
- AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T4 (AI-CLT4) 4-inch inline fan, on hand since October 17, 2026; I use its temperature sensor as a reference for the tent's temperature. It is not ducted yet and will sit at the tent end of the exhaust.
- Planned duct route: from the tent into the attic crawl space through an existing opening, then out through a new roof opening
Open problems
- There is no working exhaust yet. When it is built, I will test it with incense smoke at the tent seams.
- The liner clips have not been tested in use.
- I started printing on the Saturn before the exhaust is ready, with the exposure test on October 18 and calibration prints on October 19. That is my choice, not a tested or recommended setup.
- The space heater is an ignition source, and IPA vapor is flammable. I keep IPA covered when it's not in use and stored away from the heater.
- Safety goggles are on hand. There is no fire extinguisher at the tent yet (I plan to get one) and no respirator yet.
Project notes
This page is the tent-and-exhaust workstream within Resin Workshop. The tent is up in the garage with plastic on the floor and a temporary table inside, and both printers are sitting in it.
The exhaust will take time and money to do right. The plan is to run the duct from the tent into the attic crawl space through an existing opening and out through a new opening in the roof, with the fan at the tent end. I have the fan now and I'm using its temperature sensor; the ductwork is what's left. I'd tell someone else to wait until it's ready; I've started printing on the Saturn before then, and the Build Log records that choice and its limits. Once the exhaust is built, I'll update that recommendation.
The resin grow-tent setup guide stays Coming Soon until the tent, exhaust, and workflow have actually been used and tested.
